The first time I saw a hybrid vehicle (I found it a Prius) I have wondered why aren't there in his system integrated solar panels. The idea seems simple and logical, but it can work. Since the electric car was killed, is the only true green vehicle that has managed the hybrid. The hybrid car seems to be a solution that the environmentalists rest and profiteers of the oil at a distance. But is this enough, what will it take for the Government and the large car industry from the use of oil, we have the technology, the motivation and public approval.
We are in a era where tobacco companies be sued for millions for danger to the health of people, toy companies for danger to the safety of children, we even place hefty fines to companies for endangering the environment. How is the car industry is not ringing, they are our health, safety and the environment without any risk of persecution.
There is a new company which can be a hybrid vehicle to the next level of Green called SEV (solar-electric vehicle) was founded by Greg Johanson who built and drove the first fully solar powered car in 1984. SEV will soon bring to market a solar panel kit for hybrid vehicles. They claim in a sunny place that this kit an additional 20 miles of electric driving time can add to your hybrid. Of course this doesn't work as well as you park your car in a garage or his driving in really shady locations, but it is a viable option to your carbon footprint.
I honestly don't expect that within the next ten years will all vehicles purely run on electricity, but if we force automakers to smaller more fuel-efficient hybrids with solar panels on the roof, and a plug-in option maybe humanity will be able to breathe the air for a few more centuries.
